A multichannel hearing aid comprising at least one frequency channel having a compressor with a compression threshold at an output level below the hearing threshold and an attack time above 0.5 seconds whereby hearing of a sudden sound in a stationary sound environment is facilitated. With this compressor, the amplification of low signal levels may be increased compared to the prior art, as the compressor kicks in to generally suppress steady noises. The gain may generally be increased as high as feasible in view of the microphone baseline noise, which should preferably be kept below the hearing threshold. Thus the user of the hearing aid will generally have the option of a higher gain of low level sounds that is generally not feasible with prior art hearing aids.
La présente invention concerne une prothèse auditive multicanal (20) comportant au moins un canal de fréquence pourvu d'un compresseur (38) dont le seuil de compression est fixé à un niveau de sortie inférieur au seuil d'audition, et dont le délai d'attaque est supérieur à 0,5 secondes, ce qui permet de favoriser l'audition d'un son soudain dans un environnement sonore stationnaire. Ce compresseur permet d'accroître l'amplification des bas niveaux du signal dans la mesure où le compresseur intervient pour supprimer d'une façon générale les bruits continus. On a ainsi la possibilité d'augmenter autant que possible le gain en fonction de la courbe de référence du micro, tout en restant de préférence en dessous du seuil d'audition. De cette façon, l'utilisateur de la prothèse auditive aura généralement la possibilité de prendre, pour les sons de bas niveau, un gain supérieur à ce qui se fait généralement pour les prothèses auditives selon l'état antérieur de la technique.
