A method and a related composition for treating gastrointestinal radiation sensitivity in a subject are disclosed. The method comprises administering to the subject an agent that increases either the amount of or the activity of a fasting-induced adipose factor (Fiaf) protein in a subject. The composition comprises a first agent that increases either the amount of or the activity of a fasting-induced adipose factor (Fiaf) protein in a subject and a second agent that ameliorates at least one symptom of gastrointestinal radiosensitivity in a subject.

L'invention concerne un procédé et une composition associée qui permettent de traiter la sensibilité aux rayonnements chez un sujet. Le procédé de l'invention consiste à administrer au sujet un agent qui augmente la quantité ou l'activité d'une protéine facteur d'adipose induit par le jeûne ("fasting-induced adipose factor" ou Fiaf) chez un sujet, et un second agent qui améliore au moins un symptôme de la radiosensibilité gastro-intestinale chez un sujet.
