A connecting band for a highly flexible tissue-type heart valve having cusps and commissures that are permitted to move radially. The band attaches to the underside of the valve at the cusps to provide support to the stent and to the outer side of the valve at the commissures. The connecting band may include generally axial gaps at the commissures, one or more slits along the cusps, or a continuous outwardly projecting sewing ridge including a series of ribs separated by grooves around the inflow edge of the cusps. A wire-like flexible valve support frame has commissure tips that may be shaped with a complex curve having two enlarged convex flexure portions separated by a concave bridge portion at the midpoint of the commissure tip. Desirably the radial thickness of the support frame remains constant while the circumferential dimension varies with a maximum located at the commissure tips.

La présente invention concerne une bande de liaison destinée à une valve cardiaque hautement flexible de type tissulaire pourvue de valvules et commissures admises à bouger radialement. La bande s'attacha à la face intérieure de la valve au niveau des valvules pour assurer le maintient du stent et à la face extérieure de la valve au niveau des commissures. La bande de liaison peut comporter des intervalles généralement axiaux au niveau des commissures, une ou plusieurs fentes le long des valvules, ou un rebord continu de suture dépassant extérieurement et comportant une série de nervures séparées par des rainures autour du rebord d'entrée des flux des valvules. Un cadre filaire supportant la valve souple comporte des pointes de commissures pouvant présenter la forme d'une courbe complexe présentant deux éléments charnière convexe agrandis séparés par un élément en point concave au point moyen de la pointe de commissure. De préférence, l'épaisseur radiale du cadre support demeure constante pendant que la dimension du pourtour varie avec un maximum se situant au niveau des pointes des commissures.
