A composition for application to a substrate to form a an electrically conductive coating thereon. The composition includes a sol-gel solution filled with a conductive powder. The coating may be conductive or resistive depending on the application. A process is provided for applying such a coating by mixing a sol-gel solution with up to about 90 % by weight of the solution of a conductive powder selected from the group consisting of ceramics, inter- ceramics, semi-conductors and metals so as to provide a uniform stable dispersion. The stable dispersion is applied to substrate and the coated substrate is fired at a temperature sufficient to remove organic constituents and to produce at least a partially conductive film on the substrate. A heating device is also provided which is a product of the above process.

L'invention concerne une composition destinée à être appliquée sur un substrat afin de former un revêtement électroconducteur sur ledit substrat. Ladite composition contient une solution sol-gel chargée d'une poudre conductrice. Ledit revêtement peut être conducteur ou résistant en fonction de l'application. L'invention concerne également un procédé d'application d'un tel revêtement par mélange d'une solution sol-gel avec jusqu'à 90 % en poids de la solution d'une poudre conductrice choisie dans le groupe composé de céramiques, d'inter-céramiques, de semi-conducteurs, et de métaux, de manière à produire une dispersion stable uniforme. Ladite dispersion stable est appliquée sur un substrat et le substrat ainsi revêtu est chauffé à une température suffisant à éliminer les constituants organiques et à produire une couche au moins partiellement conductrice sur le substrat. L'invention concerne également un dispositif de chauffage mis en oeuvre dans le procédé selon l'invention.
