This invention relates to the air drying and storage of a catheter more particularly a intermittent urinary catheter. It is known in intermittent urinary catheterization that when a sterile catheter has been used, it is either disposed of, or washed, air dried and reused. Urinary tract infections are very common, this partly is do to the insertion of the foreign device into the individuals urethra and bladder, bacteria is carried in and takes hold. In this invention the air drying and storage of a catheter is enhanced by suspending it vertically in free air, so no physical contact is made with the tip of the catheter (the tip is the part of the catheter that is inserted into the individuals urethra and bladder). So the introduction to bacteria and/or foreign materials is greatly reduced.
