A fixation plate for fixing the position of a fractured bone is provided. The fixation plate includes an elongated rigid plate (10) having a plurality of first apertures (12) spaced along the length of the plate (10). The first apertures (12) are arranged and sized to receive threaded fasteners (56) for fastening the plate (10) to the bone (52)(54) on both sides of the fracture (50). The fixation plate (10) also includes a plurality of second apertures (22) spaced along the length of the plate (10). The second apertures (22), which are smaller than the first apertures (12), are arranged and sized to receive tacks (30) to temporarily attach the plate (10) to the bone (52)(54) on both sides of the fracture (50).

Cette invention concerne une plaque de fixation conçue pour l'immobilisation d'un os fracturé. Cette plaque de fixation comporte une plaque rigide oblongue (10) munie d'une pluralité de premières ouvertures (12) espacées suivant la longueur de la plaque (10). Ces premières ouvertures (12) sont disposées et dimensionnées pour recevoir des attaches filetées (56) qui servent à fixer la plaque (10) à l'os (52)(54), de part et d'autre de la fracture (50). Cette plaque de fixation (10) comporte également une pluralité de secondes ouvertures (22) espacées suivant la longueur de la plaque (10). Ces secondes ouvertures (22), plus petites que les premières, sont disposées et dimensionnées pour recevoir des clous (30) qui permettent d'attacher temporairement la plaque (10) à l'os (52)(54), de part et d'autre de la fracture (50).
