A method and apparatus for the de-tection and quantification of very low levels of a tar-get analyte using an imaging system is provided. In the case of some analytes such as certain hormones, for example TSH, their levels may be as low as sev-eral tens of thousands of molecules per micro liter. These extremely low levels can be measured by us-ing the present invention to count the individual molecules of analyte. The invention also has the ad-vantage of being a primary quantitative method, which is one which needs no standardization.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de détection et de quantification de très faibles niveaux d'un analyte cible utilisant un système d'imagerie. Dans le cas de certains analytes tels que certaines hormones, par exemple la TSH, leurs niveaux peuvent être aussi faibles que quelques dizaines de milliers de molécules par microlitre. Ces niveaux extrêmement faibles peuvent être mesurés en utilisant la présente invention pour compter les molécules individuelles d'analyte. L'invention présente également l'avantage d'être un procédé quantitatif primaire, qui ne nécessite aucune standardisation.
