REMOVAL OF METAL COMPOUNDS FROM AN ACID SOLUTION The present invention provides a process for removing an alkali metal compound from an acid solution also containing nickel and aluminum compounds, which comprises: i) contacting the acid solution with a first ion exchange resin functional to remove the nickel and aluminum compounds from the acid solution; and ii) contacting the acid solution so obtained with a second ion exchange resin functional to remove the alkali metal compound from the acid solution.
