ABSTRACT This discharge of static electricity from a charged human body to an uncharged conductive mass, can result in pain or discomfort to the individual concerned. Means are described whereby such effect can be minimized or eliminated by (a) increasing the area of skin over which the discharge current is distributed and (b) limiting said discharge current to a painless value.
