ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of bending a sheet of vitreous material wherein the sheet is heated and caused to bend relative to a contacting reaction means by initiating the bending of the sheet while it is in contact with the reaction means and separating the sheet and reaction means before comple- tion of the bending operation, and apparatus for carrying out such method which is preferably incorporated in a sheet bending plant as a mobile track-mounted unit therein. - 1 -
