ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved glass melt tank has a feeder and a channel which interconnects the tank and the feeder. A rotary, rais- able and lowerable regulator is arranged in the tank to open and close the channel. The feeder is supplied with molten glass from the tank when a level sensing means senses a lower level in the feeder, the supply of molten glass being caused to cease when an upper level is sensed. The regulator rotates contin- uously in order not to get stuck in setting glass and seals against a horizontal seat formed in the channel.
