This invention discloses 1.alpha.-a-hydroxy-2-methylene-19-nor- pregnacalciferol and pharamaceutical uses therefor. This compound exhibits pronounced activity in arresting the proliferation of undifferentiated cells and inducing their differentiation to the monocyte thus evidencing use as an anti-cancer agent and for the treatment of skin diseases such as psoriasis as well as skin conditions such as wrinkels, slack skin, dry skin and insufficient sebum secretion. This compound also has little, if any calcemic activity and therefore may be used to treat immune disorders in humans as well as renal osteodystrophy.
L'invention porte sur 1.alpha.-hydroxy-2-methylène-19-nor-pregnacalciférol et ses utilisations pharmaceutiques associées. Ce composé présente une forte activité d'interruption de la prolifération de cellules indifférenciées et d'induction de leur différenciation dans le monocyte, ce qui prouve ainsi son utilisation en tant qu'agent anti-cancérigène et dans le traitement de maladies de la peau telles que le psoriasis ainsi que certaines conditions de la peau telle que les rides, le relâchement de la peau, la peau sèche et l'insuffisance de sécrétion de sébum. Ce composé présente aussi, le cas échéant, une activité calcique et peut, par conséquent, être utilisé afin de traiter les troubles immuns chez les humains ainsi que l'ostéodystrophie rénale.
