ABSTRACT [16,17-a]Cyclopentano Pregnenes Antiinflammatory activity is exhibited by new pregnenes having the structural formula Image wherein R1 is hydrogen, hydroxy, halogen, or Image wherein Y is alkyl or aryl; R2 and R3 are each hydrogen, R2 and R3 are each methyl, R2 and R3 are each alkylthio, R2 is hydrogen and R3 is alkyl, R2 is hydroxyl and R3 is alkyl, or R2 and R3 taken together are -(CH2)2-, methylene, or oxo; and R4 is hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine or bromine.
