La présente invention concerne dérivés kétolide à substitution 2-halo-6-O, certains de leurs sels pharmaceutiquement admis, et certains esters de ces sels présentant une activité antibactérienne, tous produits représentés par la formule générale (I) ou (II). L'invention concerne également, d'une part des compositions comprenant une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace d'un composé de l'invention en association avec un vecteur pharmaceutiquement admis, et d'autre part un traitement d'infections bactériennes consistant en l'administration à un mammifère d'une composition comprenant une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace d'un composé de l'invention.
