This invention relates to novel 3,9-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane derivatives which are found to be cholinergic ligands at the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and modulators of the monoamine receptors and transporters. Due to their pharmacological profile the compounds of the invention may be useful for the treatment of diseases or disorders as diverse as those related to the cholinergic system of the central nervous system (CNS), the peripheral nervous system (PNS), diseases or disorders related to smooth muscle contraction, endocrine diseases or disorders, diseases or disorders related to neuro- degeneration, diseases or disorders related to inflammation, pain, and withdrawal symptoms caused by the termination of abuse of chemical substances.

L'invention concerne des nouveaux dérivés de 3,9-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane qui s'avèrent être des ligands cholinergiques au niveau des récepteurs nicotiniques de l'acétylcholine et des modulateurs des récepteurs et des transporteurs de monoamine. De par leur profil pharmacologique, les composés de l'invention sont aptes à être utilisés pour le traitement des maladies ou des troubles divers suivants : maladies ou troubles associés au système cholinergique du système nerveux central (SNC), du système nerveux périphérique (SNP); maladies ou troubles associés à la contraction des muscles lisses; maladies ou troubles endocriniens; maladies ou troubles associés à la neurodégénération; maladies ou troubles associés à l'inflammation, à la douleur; et syndromes de sevrage provoqués par l'arrêt de consommation abusive de substances chimiques.
