A brassiere wire moulded in one-piece from a plastic material, the wire comprising a generally U-shaped body defining a first arm (14) and a second arm (15) connected by a central body region (16), the first and second arms and central body region generally lying in a common plane, the resiliency and rigidity characteristics of the plastic material and the U-shaped body along its length permitting the body to distort out of said plane and to cause the central region to torsionally twist about its longitudinal axis when the terminal ends of said first and second arms are flexed toward one another in opposed directions within said plane, the second arm being provided with a longitudinally extending flexure region at its end adjacent to the central body region, the flexure region (70) being spaced in-board from the terminal end of the second arm and adapted to maintain axial rigidity along the length of the U~shaped body whilst enabling an end of the second arm to more readily flex in direction perpendicular to said plane.

L~invention concerne un fil pour soutien-gorge moulé d~un seul tenant à partir d~une matière plastique, comprenant un corps généralement en U définissant un premier bras (14) et un deuxième bras (15) reliés par une région de corps centrale (16), les premier et deuxième bras et la région de corps centrale étant généralement situés dans un même plan, les caractéristiques d~élasticité et de rigidité de la matière plastique et du corps en U sur sa longueur permettant au corps de se déformer hors du plan et de provoquer la torsion de la région centrale autour de son axe longitudinal lorsque les extrémités terminales des premier et deuxième bras sont fléchies l~une vers l~autre dans des directions opposées dans le plan, le deuxième bras étant pourvu d~une région de flexion se prolongeant longitudinalement au niveau de son extrémité adjacente à la région de corps centrale, la région de flexion (70) étant espacée, dans le plan, de l~extrémité terminale du deuxième bras et conçue pour conserver une rigidité axiale sur la longueur du corps en U tout en permettant à une extrémité du deuxième bras de fléchir plus facilement dans une direction perpendiculaire au plan.
