ABSTRACT A collecting container for recyclable waste materials, in particular glass, is composed of partial containers (1, 2, 3) with closed outer, upper and lower sides (4, 5, 6), with the exception of top waste-introduction openings (7), and of at least one open inner side that faces the other partial container in the closed position of the container. The partial containers further have hinges (14) at their top sides (6) that mutually link them, as well as coupling means (17) spaced apart from the hinge axis in the direction of the side opposite to the other partial container. The partial containers may be swung open by means or the coupling means (17) that cooperate with a hoist provided with complementary coupling means, so that their open inner sides are separated, forming a downwardly oriented emptying opening. In order to provide such collecting containers with two or more partial containers that may be independently emptied in any desired order, the partial containers (1, 2, 3) are arranged with their top hinges (14) on a central receiving body (15) having wall sections that close the open inner sides of the partial containers in their respective closed positions.
