An opto-electronic A/D converter includes a tunable laser (10) for wavelength modulating a narrowband coherent electromagnetic beam by the amplitude of the analog signal. A grating (12) transforms the wavelength modulated beam into a corresponding angularly modulated beam. A set of kinoforms (14) diffract the angularly modulated beam into a bundle of diffracted beams. Detectors (18, 20) determine the digital signal by repeatedly sampling the spatial power distribution of the diffracted beams.

Un convertisseur A/D opto-électronique comprend un laser accordable (10) pour une longueur d'onde modulant un faisceau électromagnétique cohérent à bande étroite par l'amplitude du signal analogique. Un filtre (12) transforme le faisceau modulé de longueur d'onde en un faisceau modulé angulairement correspondant. Un jeu de cinéformes (14) diffracte le faisceau modulé angulairement en un faisceau de rayons diffractés. Des détecteurs (18, 20) déterminent le signal numérique par échantillonnage répété de la distribution de puissance dans l'espace des faisceaux diffractés.
