A device for incising a stenosis in the aortic valve of a patient includes an elongated balloon catheter, with at least one straight blade mounted on the balloon. Specifically, the blade is coplanar with the axis of the catheter, and the distal end of the blade is located adjacent the distal end of the balloon. In operation, the balloon/blade combination is advance into the vasculature and positioned proximal to the stenosis to be incised. The balloon is then inflated. With this inflation, the blade is inclined relative to the axis of the catheter with an increasing distance between the blade and the axis in a proximal direction. The device is then retracted, distally, to incise the stenosis.
La présente invention a trait à un dispositif destiné à l'incision d'une sténose dans la valvule aortique d'un patient comportant un cathéter à ballonnet de forme allongée, avec au moins une lame droite montée sur le ballonnet. De manière spécifique, la lame est coplanaire avec l'axe du cathéter, et l'extrémité distale de la lame est située adjacente à l'extrémité distale du ballonnet. En fonctionnement, la combinaison ballonnet/lame s'avance dans le système vasculaire et est positionnée à proximité de la sténose à inciser. Le ballonnet est ensuite gonflé. Grâce à ce gonflage, la lame s'incline par rapport à l'axe du cathéter avec une augmentation de distance entre la lame et l'axe dans la direction proximale. Le dispositif est alors rétracté en direction distale pour réaliser l'incision de la sténose.
