Disclosed is a novel therapeutic agent for metabolic syndrome which can ameliorate the accumulation of visceral fat and can prevent/treat metabolic syndrome. The therapeutic agent for metabolic syndrome comprises a dietary fiber aggregate as an active ingredient, wherein the dietary fiber aggregate contains a water-soluble .beta.-glucan in the largest content. A particularly effective example of the water-soluble .beta.-glucan is one having a .beta.- 1,3-glycoside bond and a .beta.-1,4-glycoside bond in the molecule.
La présente invention concerne un nouvel agent thérapeutique pour le traitement du syndrome métabolique, qui permet de réduire l~accumulation de graisse viscérale et de prévenir/traiter le syndrome métabolique. L~agent thérapeutique pour le traitement du syndrome métabolique comprend comme principe actif un agrégat de fibres alimentaires, lequel contient principalement du .beta.-glycane hydrosoluble. Un exemple particulièrement efficace de .beta.-glycane hydrosoluble présente une liaison .beta.-1,3-glycoside et une liaison .beta.-1,4-glycoside dans la molécule.
