A dual fuel boiler (1) has a granular fuel burner (11) and a fluid fuel burner (12). The fluid fuel burner (12) is movable between a retracted stored position at a side of a combustion chamber (4) of the boiler (1) and an extended operative position in which it extends out over a brazier (23) of the granular fuel burner (11). Thus in the operative position substantially all of the flame and hot combustion gases generated by the fluid fuel burner (12) in use are directed away from the brazier (23) to prevent damage to the brazier (23).

Le brûleur à combustible fluide (12) est mobile entre une position rétractée de repos d'un côté d'une chambre de combustion (4) de la chaudière (1) et une position déployée de fonctionnement dans laquelle il fait saillie au-dessus d'un foyer (23) du brûleur à combustible granulaire (11). Ainsi, dans la position de fonctionnement, sensiblement la totalité de la flamme et des gaz chauds de combustion générés par le brûleur à combustible fluide (12) en cours d'utilisation sont dirigés à l'écart du foyer (23) afin de prévenir tout dommage au foyer (23).
