Disclosed are protective, flexible mats for absorbing liquids on floors and other surfaces which contain a waterproof component and a polymeric foam sheet formed by polymerizing a high internal phase water-in-oil emulsion. The mats can also contain a non-skid material and/or at least one liquid pervious sheet. The mats are suitable for absorbing hydrophilic and hydrophobic liquids.

L'invention porte sur des nattes de protection souples destinées à absorber les liquides se répandant sur le sol et autres surfaces et contenant un élément étanche à l'eau et une feuille de polymère expansé obtenue par polymérisation d'une émulsion eau dans huile à phase interne élevée. Lesdites nattes peuvent également contenir un matériau antidérapant et/ou au moins une feuille perméable aux liquides. Ces nattes peuvent absorber les liquides hydrophiles et hydrophobes.
