A composition comprising: (a) a low density homopolymer of ethylene prepared by a high pressure process; (b) a scorch inhibitor selected from the group consisting of a substituted hydroquinone; 4,4'-thiobis(2-methyl-6-t-butylphenol); 2,2'-thiobis(6-t-butyl-4-methylphenol); and 4,4'-thiobis(2-t-butyl-5- methylphenol) in an amount of about 0.02 to about 0.07 part by weight of scorch inhibitor per 100 parts by weight of homopolymer; (c) a cure booster; and (d) an organic peroxide.
