A knitted cover and a method of forming a two dimensional knitting pattern for the cover . The pattern is taken from two dimensional development of the cover and has pairs of edges-to-be-joined in the conversion from two dimensional development to three dimensional cover. These edges are broken down into courses or rows of progressively ranging lengths, and the courses or rows are rearranged to form new edges in which a particular course or row is not necessarily adjacent its original neighbour before rearrangement.
