A method and a machine for baiting fishing hooks by means of a baiting machine comprising a baiting station (1), wherein fishing hooks (18) are pulled past the baiting station (1) by means of a line which is attached in the hook's eye (26). The method comprises the steps of securing a bait at a first end section thereof by means of a holding arm (8) and a spike (22) which projects towards the holding arm, bringing the point of the hook (18) into engagement with a second end section of the bait opposite the first end section during an introductory threading of the hook (18) onto the bait, letting the bait rotate in a first direction about the first end section under the influence of the force exerted on the bait by the hook (18), while the hook (18) simultaneously continues to be threaded onto the bait, and letting the hook (18) rotate in a direction opposite to the first direction as it is pulled off the line, until the bait has been threaded onto the bend (30) of the hook (18).

L'invention concerne un procédé et une machine à boetter permettant de mettre un appât sur des hameçons. Ladite machine à boetter comprend un point d'appât (1), les hameçons étant tirés devant le point d'appât (1) au moyen d'une ligne fixée dans l'oeillet (26) de l'hameçon.
