The present invention relates to a method of sending to an unkown switching centre that serves a given mobile station a command concerning said mobile station. The command is sent by using a previously known short message service, e.g. SMS in the GSM-system. The command may constitute a request for the switching centre to determine the position of the mobile station and is sent from a positioning node outside the mobile communications system. The invention also relates to a method of sending data from the switching centre to the positioning node. The invention also relates to a switching centre and also to a system for carrying out the method.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'envoyer à un centre de commutation inconnu, desservant une station mobile donnée, une commande concernant ladite station mobile. La commande est envoyée à l'aide du service de messages courts préalablement connu tel que le SMS du GSM. La commande peut être une demande adressée au centre de commutation pour déterminer la position de la station mobile. Cette commande est envoyée à partir d'un noeud de positionnement extérieur au système de communication mobile. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant d'envoyer des données du centre de commutation au noeud de positionnement. L'invention concerne également un centre de commutation et un système permettant de mettre en oeuvre ledit procédé.
