A livestock feeding regimen which increases the amount of beneficial omega fatty acids expressed in milk from lactating animals, i.e. dairy cattle and goats. A further embodiment of the invention is the meat from livestock animals fed under the same or similar feeding regimes and containing the same beneficial omega fatty acids. The invention includes a comprehensive system of combining specific fish meal/oil dietary supplements, sodium bentonite (clay) and particular herd management techniques for achieving enhanced levels of beneficial omega fatty acids in milk and meat. Dairy cattle, goats and other lactating animals are fed a special supplement containing cold marine fish meal and/or oil known to contain beneficial omega fatty acids and a high fibre diet plus sodium bentonite to prevent microbial degradation of the beneficial omega fatty acids in the rumen. The beneficial omega fatty acids enhanced liquid milk produced by this invention, and the further processed dairy products, are covered by this invention. Meat from livestock fed under this invention are also covered by this invention. Algae are also an excellent source of beneficial fatty acids as an alternative to fish meals/oil.
