This is a method for rigging a rotating sailboat mast on a narrow vessel such as a mono- hull, using stays and mast-mounted spreaders. The mast is deck stepped on a hinge-pin and the stays and spreaders are attached to the mast in such a way that the mast remains free to rotate from side to side about a vertical axis.
