This invention is a pharmaceutical composition that inhibits the growth of cancers and tumors in mammals, particularly in human and warm-blooded animals. The composition is also effective against viruses. The composition contains N- chlorophenylcarbamates and N-chlorophenylthiocarbamates which are systemic herbicides. The composition can also contain N-chlorophenylcarbamates and N- chlorophenylthiocarbamates along with a chemotherapeutic agent and optionally a potentiator. A composition for treating viral infections in animals or humans comprising a safe and effective amount of N-chlorophenylcarbamates and the N-chlorophenylthiocarbamates and a potentiator is also disclosed.
L'invention concerne une composition pharmaceutique qui inhibe le développement de cancers et de tumeurs chez les mammifères (en particulier chez l'homme) et chez d'autres animaux à sang chaud. La composition est également efficace contre les virus. La composition contient des N-chlorophénylcarbamates et des N-chlorophénylthiocarbamates qui sont des herbicides systémiques. La composition peut aussi contenir des N-chlorophénylcarbamates et des N-chlorophénylthiocarbamates associés à un agent chimiothérapeutique et éventuellement à un agent de potentialisation. Une composition pour traiter les infections virales chez les humains ou chez des animaux est décrite, qui contient une quantité efficace et sans danger de N-chlorophénylcarbamates et de N-chlorophénylthiocarbamates, ainsi qu'un agent de potentialisation.
