The present invention relates to a pipe segment including an outer (2) and an inner pipe section (4), with the inner pipe section being positioned within the outer pipe section, and a support means (44, 14, 64) supporting the inner pipe section in relation to the outer pipe section so that the inner pipe section can expand axially relative to the outer pipe section in response to temperature changes in the material being transported in the pipe segment. Furthermore, the present invention refers to a transfer line for transporting hot particulate material, such as iron ore fines, in a carrier gas, including a plurality of these pipe segments and to a process for transporting hot particulate material in a carrier gas in a direct smelting plant for producing molten metal from a metalliferous feed material, in particular between a pretreatment unit and solid delivery means in the form of lances for injecting the material into a direct smelting vessel.
La présente invention se rapporte à un segment de tuyau incluant une section de tuyau externe (2) et une section de tuyau interne (4), ladite section de tuyau interne étant positionnée à l'intérieur de ladite section de tuyau externe, et un moyen de support (44, 14, 64) supportant la section de tuyau interne par rapport à la section de tuyau externe de sorte que la section de tuyau interne puisse se dilater axialement par rapport à la section de tuyau externe en cas de variation de la température de la matière transportée dans le segment de tuyau. En outre, la présente invention se rapporte à une ligne de transfert conçue pour transporter une matière particulaire chaude, du type fraction fine de minerais de fer, dans un gaz de transport, qui comprend une pluralité de ces segments de tuyau, et à un procédé de transport d'une matière particulaire chaude dans un gaz de transport au sein d'installations de fusion directe permettant la production de métal fondu à partir d'une matière d'alimentation contenant du fer métallique, en particulier entre une unité de prétraitement et un moyen de diffusion solide se présentant sous la forme de lances permettant l'injection de la matière dans une cuve de fusion directe.
