Processes are provided for the electrodialysis of a (di)alkali metal salt of an aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid to produce a free aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid and the alkali metal hydroxide, in the presence of a selected alkali metal salt. These various embodiments represent efficient and economical methods for recovering the alkali metal hydroxide, as well as the parent organic compound, from these dialkali metal salts. These processes also desirably prevent overvoltage during the electrodialysis.
L'invention concerne des procédés d'électrodialyse d'un sel de métal (di)alcalin d'un acide aromatique hydroxycarboxylique afin de produire un acide aromatique hydroxycarboxylique libre et l'hydroxyde de métal alcalin, en la présence d'un sel métallique alcalin sélectionné. Ces divers modes de réalisation représentent des procédés efficaces et économiques de récupération de l'hydroxyde de métal alcalin, ainsi que le composé organique parent à partir de ces sels métalliques dialcalins. Ces procédés empêchent également et avantageusement les surtensions pendant l'électrodialyse.
