The present invention provides a fractionation process for treating an aqueous sucrose syrup having, on a dry basis, an initial sucrose content of at least 30w/w% comprising combining the syrup with a solvent selected from the group consisting of alkanols, ketones, and esters having 3 to 8 carbon atoms and mixtures thereof to form a system having at least two liquid phases in contact with a sucrose-containing solid phase and separating the phases, whereby there are obtained at least two products from the liquid phases, a first of which is characterised by a sucrose content, on a dry basis, greater than the initial content and a second of which is characterised by a sucrose content, on a dry basis, less than the initial content, in addition to a product obtained from the sucrose-containing solid phase.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de fractionnement destiné au traitement d'un sirop de saccharose en phase aqueuse possédant, sur une base sèche, une teneur initiale en saccharose d'au moins 30 % en poids; le procédé consiste à combiner le sirop avec un solvant sélectionné dans le groupe formé par des alcanols, des cétones et des esters comprenant 3 à 8 atomes de carbone, et des mélanges de ces derniers pour former un système comportant au moins deux phases liquides en contact avec une phase solide contenant du saccharose, puis à séparer les phases; de cette manière, on obtient au moins deux produits provenant des phases liquides: un premier caractérisé par une teneur en saccharose, sur une base sèche, supérieure à la teneur initiale, et un deuxième caractérisé par une teneur en saccharose, sur une base sèche, inférieure à la teneur initiale, en plus d'un produit obtenu à partir de la phase solide contenant du saccharose.
