An apparatus for protecting equipment connected to a high voltage direct current line comprises a current valve (12) having at least one semiconductor device (13) and a rectifying member (14) connected in anti-parallel therewith. A surge arrester (16) is configured to connect said current valve (12) to said line (2), and a control unit (15) is configured to control the current valve (12) to conduct for draining current from the line (2) to ground (11).
L'invention porte sur un appareil de protection d'un équipement connecté à une ligne de courant continu haute tension, lequel appareil comprend une vanne de courant (12) comprenant au moins un dispositif à semi-conducteur (13) et un élément redresseur (14) connecté de façon antiparallèle à celui-ci. Un parasurtenseur (16) est configuré pour connecter ladite vanne de courant (12) à ladite ligne (2), et une unité de commande (15) est configurée pour commander la vanne de courant (12) pour qu'elle conduise de façon à drainer un courant de la ligne (2) vers la masse (11).
