A secondary coating line for producing a secondary-coated optical fibre or bundle of fibres (6), the line comprising a feeding apparatus with a feed roll (1) for feeding an optical fibre or bundle of fibres (2); an extruder (3) for extruding an oversize secondary jacket around the fibre or bundle of fibres (2); a cooling apparatus (4) for cooling the extruded secondary jacket, the distance between the extruder (3) and the point where the cooling apparatus starts to cool being adjustable; and a winding apparatus (5) for winding the finished secondary-coated fibre or bundle of fibres (6) on a take-up roll (7). To maintain the high quality of the final product even as the line speed changes, the secondary coating line of the invention further comprises means (8) for determining the point where the cooling apparatus (4) starts to cool, means (9) for determining the speed of the finished secondary-coated fibre or bundle of fibres (6), and means (11, 8) for adjusting the point where the cooling apparatus (4) starts to cool in accordance with the speed of the finished secondary-coated fibre or bundle of fibres (6).
L'invention concerne une ligne d'application d'une gaine secondaire pour produire une fibre ou un faisceau de fibres optiques portnt une gaine de revêtement secondaire (6). Cette ligne comprend un appareil d'alimentation avec une bobine d'alimentation (1) fournissant une fibre ou un faisceau de fibres optiques (2); une extrudeuse (3) pour extruder une gaine secondaire surdimensionnée autour de la fibre ou du faisceau de fibres optiques (2); un appareil de refroidissement (4) pour refroidir la gaine secondaire extrudée, la distance entre l'extrudeuse (3) et le point où l'appareil de refroidissement commence à refroidir étant ajustable; et un appareil d'enroulement (5) pour enrouler la fibre ou le faisceau de fibres portant une gaine de revêtement secondaire (6) sur la bobine réceptrice (7). Pour maintenir la haute qualité du produit final, même lorsque la vitesse de la ligne change, la ligne d'application de la gaine secondaire comprend en outre des moyens (8) pour déterminer le point où l'appareil de refroidissement (4) commence à refroidir, des moyens (9) pour déterminer la vitesse de la fibre ou du faisceau de fibres portant la gaine secondaire (6) et des moyens (11, 8) pour ajuster le point où l'appareil de refroidissement (4) commence à refroidir, en fonction de la vitesse de la fibre ou du faisceau de fibres portant la gaine secondaire (6).
