A system for monitoring the condition of a vehicle has at least one wireless transmitter in on the vehicle, and in communication with the vehicle computer system. Data representative of operating parameters generated during the operation of the vehicle is download to the transmitter, which transmits the data to wireless receiver positioned proximal to a path of travel of the vehicle. The receiver is linked to a processor for transmission of the data to the processor for storage and processing if necessary. The system may also include at least one sensor, positioned proximal the path of travel, for detecting a physical phenomenon emanating from at least one vehicle component. The sensor generates a signal, which is transmitted to the processor. The processor is capable of analyzing the signal generating data indicative of operating condition of the vehicle component. The sensor, and/or receiver, mounted to a structure positioned proximal the path of travel of the vehicle.
L'invention concerne un système de surveillance de l'état d'un véhicule, qui comporte au moins un émetteur sans fil installé dans ledit véhicule et en communication avec son système informatique. Les données représentatives des paramètres de fonctionnement générés lors de l'exploitation du véhicule sont téléchargées vers l'émetteur, qui les communique à un récepteur sans fil à proximité d'un parcours du véhicule. Ledit récepteur est relié à un processeur en vue de lui transmettre des données pour stockage et traitement, s'il y a lieu. Le système peut également comporter au moins un capteur placé à proximité du parcours et conçu pour détecter un phénomène physique émanant d'au moins un composant de véhicule. Ledit capteur génère un signal, qui est transmis au processeur. Le processeur est capable d'analyser le signal produisant des données indiquant l'état de fonctionnement du composant de véhicule. Le capteur, et/ou le récepteur, sont montés sur une structure placée à proximité du parcours du véhicule.
