A system is disclosed that facilitates web-based information retrieval and display system. A wireless phone or similar hand-held wireless device with Internet Protocol capability is combined with other peripherals to provide a portable portal into the Internet. The wireless device prompts a user to input information of interest to the user. This information is transmitted a query to a service routine (running on a Web server). The service routine then queries the Web to find price, shipping and availability information from various Web suppliers. This information is then available for use by nutrition and health monitoring systems to support an ongoing exercise program. The system provides tools for dynamic configuration of a mobile communication network that are useful in a mobile environment.
Cette invention a trait à un système facilitant l'extraction et l'affichage d'informations axées sur le Web. Un téléphone sans fil ou un dispositif analogue sans fil à fonction protocole Internet est associé à d'autres périphériques de manière à constituer un portique portable dans l'Internet. Le dispositif sans fil demande à un usager d'entrer une information pertinente le concernant. Cette information est transmise sous forme de demande à une routine de service (tournant sur un serveur Web). La routine de service demande alors au Web de rechercher auprès de différents fournisseurs des informations relatives au prix, à l'expédition et à la disponibilité. Cette information peut ensuite être utilisée par des système de surveillance de la nutrition et de la santé aux fins de la prise en charge d'un programme d'exercice en cours. Le système fournit également des outils aux fins de la configuration dynamique d'un réseau de communication mobile, ces outils se révélant des plus utiles dans un environnement mobile.
