A tool, a kit, and a method for assembly a tool, such as a shovel. The tool comprises a blade member possessing an aperture for receiving an elongate shaft. An orifice is provided in the blade member, and a resiliently biased spring clip which may be fixedly secured to the blade member is further provided. The spring clip member is adapted to be passed through the orifice in the blade member into an orifice in the shaft member, so as to prevent removal of the shaft member from within the blade member. Means is further provided wherein each of the shaft member and blade member matingly engage in the aperture of the blade member in a manner so that rotation of one member relative to the other is prevented.
