Abstract Acid Catalyst Production Using Ion Exchange A coating composition comprising a hydroxyl modified resin, a melamine formaldehyde resin and an acid catalyst wherein the acid catalyst is produced by solvent borne ion exchange of a salt of said acid. The process offers a simpler and more economical method of producing acid catalysts for use in said coating composition.
