A one-component adhesive for metal surfaces such as iron, zinc, copper, cadmium and their alloys that will cure upon contact with the metal surface. The adhesive composition includes an olefinically unsaturated monomer; an acidic compound; a sulfonyl-containing compound; and a compound containing a transition metal. The adhesive composition may also optionally contain other additional polymeric materials and will cure rapidly upon contact with a metal surface to form an adhesive bond between metal surfaces. The adhesive composition avoids the use of halide-containing compounds which can be undesirable in certain applications.

Adhésif en un seul emballage pour les surfaces métalliques comme le fer, le zinc, le cuivre, le cadmium et leurs alliages qui durcit au contact avec la surface métallique. L'adhésif comprend un monomère oléfinique insaturé; un composé acide; un composé contenant du sulfonyle; et un composé contenant un métal transitoire. Il peut également comprendre, au choix, d'autres polymères additionnels et séchera rapidement au contact pour lier par collage deux surfaces métalliques. Ainsi, il n'est plus nécessaire d'utiliser des composés contenant des halogénures que l'on peut vouloir éviter dans certaines applications.
