An air cleaner is described wherein an ion wind is generated by an ionizing element and directed to pass over a dust collector surface. By proper design and adjustment of the ionizing element and collector, the unit can be operated without emitting charged particles, if any, in other than the direction of orientation of the dust collector surface and thus avoiding smudging of the surrounding walls. The collector may be cylindrical in form and may be separately detachable, rendering it readily available for cleaning.
Cette invention porte sur un épurateur d'air comprenant un vent ionique généré par un élément ionisant et orienté de sorte qu'il passe sur une surface d'un capteur de poussière. Une conception et un réglage appropriés de l'élément ionisant et du capteur permettent à l'unité de fonctionner dans émettre de particules chargées. Si des particules chargées sont toutefois émises, elles sont orientées dans une direction différente de celle de la surface du capteur de poussière, ce qui permet d'éviter de salir les parois environnantes. Ce capteur peut être de forme cylindrique et peut être démontable, ce qui le rend facile à nettoyer.
