ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel compounds are provided herein of the Formula (I) Image (I) or of the Formula (II) Image (II) . In such formulae, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are as specifically recited in the specification. Non-toxic, pharmaceutically-acceptable salts and non-toxic, pharmaceutically-acceptable esters and mixtures thereof may also be provided. Processes for the preparation of these compounds are also described. The compounds and their non- toxic salts and non-toxic esters exhibit valuable pharmacological properties as estrogenic, antiestrogenic, and progestanic drugs and have anti-tumour activity. Certain compounds of the group are useful as chemical intermediates for the preparation of other pharmaceutically-active compounds.
