ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE : The present invention is concerned with .alpha.-azolyl sulfides, and their derivatives consisting of .alpha.-azolyl sulfoxides and .alpha.-azolyl sulfones of the formula Image (I), where R1 denotes hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, or unsub- stituted aryl or aryl substituted by halogen, NO2, alkyl or haloalkyl; R2 denotes hydrogen or alkyl, R3 denotes alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, unsubstituted phenyl or phenyl substituted by alkoxy, alkyl or halogen, or unsubstituted aralkyl or aralkyl substituted by halogen, Az denotes imidazol-1-yl, pyrazol-1-yl, 1,2,4-triazol-1-yl, 1,2,4-tria- zol-4 yl, tetrazol-1-yl or tetrazol-2-yl, and n denotes one of the integers 0, 1 and 2, and their salts and metal complexes of copper, tin, zinc, manganese, iron, cobalt and nickel.
