An alternate-path, well screen which includes means for protecting the alternate flowpath (e.g., a plurality of conduits) on the screen during installation and operation. This means is comprised of a shroud having a plurality of radial openings in the wall thereof, which is concentrically mounted on said body and is connected at each end thereto whereby the shroud covers and protects the alternate flowpath.
