An animal call has a body and a sound generator. The body has an adapter with at least one opening and a shutter with at least one opening. The shutter is moveably engaged to the adapter such that the shutter may be moved with respect to the adapter to vary the degree of overlap of the openings in the adapter and the shutter thus allowing a user to manipulate sounds produced by the sound generator.
