The present invention provide a recombinant polypeptide based on a tandem array of repeats of the N-terminal 7 amino acids of A.beta.42, preferably positioned within the active loop site of a carrier such as bacterial thioredoxin (Trx). Antibodies raised against these recombinant constructs were found to have a very strong affinity for A.beta.42, opening up possibilities for diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

La présente invention porte sur un polypeptide recombiné basé sur une série de répétitions en tandem des 7 acides aminés N-terminaux de Aß42, de préférence placés à l'intérieur du site de la boucle active d'un porteur tel que la thiorédoxine bactérienne (Trx).
