The invention relates to an antibody, antibody fragment or derivative thereof which specifically recognizes a prion protein and which comprises a complementarity determining region (CDR), a retro-inverso D-peptide of said CDR and/or an anti-idiotypic antibody, antibody fragment or derivative thereof which recognizes said CDR. The invention further concerns a nucleic acid molecule encoding said antibody, antibody fragment or derivative thereof as well as a method for generating an antibody, antibody fragment or derivative thereof that specifically recognizes a prion protein, wherein an antibody that recognizes a specific domain of the prion protein is generated, an antigen-specific amino acid sequence is isolated from said antibody, and an anti-idiotypic antibody, antibody fragment or derivative thereof, which recognizes said antigen-specific amino acid sequence, is generated.

L'invention porte sur un anticorps, un fragment d'anticorps ou un dérivé de celui-ci qui reconnaît de façon spécifique une protéine prion et qui comprend une région de détermination de complémentarité (CDR), un peptide D rétro-inverso de ladite CDR et/ou un anticorps anti-idiotypique, un fragment d'anticorps ou dérivé de celui-ci qui reconnaît ladite CDR. L'invention concerne en outre une molécule d'acide nucléique codant pour ledit anticorps, fragment d'anticorps ou dérivé de celui-ci ainsi qu'un procédé pour générer un anticorps, fragment d'anticorps ou dérivé de celui-ci qui reconnaît spécifiquement une protéine prion, un anticorps qui reconnaît un domaine spécifique de la protéine prion étant généré, une séquence d'acides aminés spécifique de l'antigène étant isolée dudit anticorps, et un anticorps anti-idiotypique, un fragment d'anticorps ou un dérivé de celui-ci, qui reconnaît ladite séquence d'acides aminés spécifique de l'antigène, étant généré.
