-30- Abstract A method to treat HIV and other retroviral infection by administering a novel conjugate or the precursors to the conjugate is described. In a preferred embodiment, the individual components, Lucifer Yellow and having carbonyl functional groups for reaction with the semicarbazide moiety of Lucifer Yellow are used a pre- cursors in pharmaceutical compositions for HIV treatment.
