An apparatus and method for bending and/or tempering glass substrate(s) are provided. The amount of near-IR radiation which reaches the glass (1) and (5) to be bent and/or tempered is limited (e.g., via filtering (12) or any other suitable technique). Thus, the IR radiation (7) (used for heating the glass) which reaches the glass (1) and (5) to be bent and/or tempered includes mostly mid-IR and/or farIR radiation (10), and not much near-IR. In such a manner, coating(s) (3) provided on the glass can be protected and kept at lower temperatures so as to be less likely to be damaged during the bending and/or tempering process. Heating efficiency can be improved. A ceramic (e.g., aluminosilicate) filter or baffle may be used in certain embodiments in order to reduce the amount of mid-IR and/or far-IR radiation reaching the glass to be tempered and/or bent.
L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé de bombage et/ou de trempage de substrats de verre. La quantité de rayonnement infrarouge proche qui atteint le verre (1, 5) à bomber ou à tremper est limitée (p. ex. par filtrage (12) ou par toute autre technique appropriée). Ainsi, le rayonnement (7) à infrarouge (utilisé pour chauffer le verre) qui atteint le verre (1, 5) à bomber et/ou à tremper comprend surtout un rayonnement infrarouge moyen ou lointain (10), mais à peine un rayonnement infrarouge proche. De cette façon, un ou des revêtements (3) déposés sur le verre peuvent être protégés et maintenus à de faibles températures de façon à limiter les possibilités d'être endommagés pendant le procédé de bombage et/ou de trempage. L'efficacité de chauffage peut être améliorée. Un filtre ou un déflecteur de céramique (p. ex. l'aluminosilicate) peut être utilisé dans certains modes de réalisation de manière à réduire la quantité de rayonnement moyen et/ou lointain qui atteint le verre à tremper ou à bomber.
