An apparatus for adjusting the alignment of the optical fibers at a high precision, formed by a base frame having a plurality of pairs of V-grooves for mounting the optical fibers at mutually facing sides of the base frame, each V-groove being defined by a fixed member and a movable member, each movable member being movable within a guide groove defined between each adjacent fixed members, and one of each pair of V-grooves on one of the mutually facing sides has the fixed member and the movable member facing against the movable member and the fixed member, respectively, of another one of each pair of V-grooves on another one of the mutually facing sides; and a plurality of piezoelectric elements, each of which is connected with each movable member of each V-groove, for causing each movable member to move within the guide groove such that a displacement of each movable member makes an adjustment of a position of an optical fiber mounted on each V-groove.

Appareil pour régler avec une grande précision l'alignement des fibres optiques au moyen d'un bâti de base comportant une pluralité de paires de rainures en V pour le montage des fibres optiques sur les parois mutuellement vis-à-vis du châssis de base. Chaque rainure en V est définie par un élément fixe et un élément mobile, chaque élément mobile pouvant être déplacé dans une rainure de guidage définie entre chaque élément contigu fixe; une des paires de rainures en V sur un des côtés mutuellement vis-à-vis présente l'élément fixe et l'élément mobile vis-à-vis l'élément mobile et l'élément fixe, respectivement, d'un autre rainure de chaque paire de rainures en V sur un autre des côtés mutuellement vis-à-vis. L'appareil comporte aussi une pluralité d'éléments piézoélectriques dont chacun est connecté à chaque élément mobile de chaque rainure en V, pour que chaque élément mobile se déplace à l'intérieur de la rainure de guidage de sorte que le déplacement de chaque élément mobile règle la position d'une fibre optique montée dans chaque rainure en V.
