ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE An apparatus for applying a printing or cutting force to an elongated strip of tape which includes a base defining a printing or cutting surface, a pair of side walls extending upwardly from the base and having a tape receiving opening in alignment with the printing or cutting surface, a printing or cutting member positionable in printing or cutting alignment with the surface and a force exerting means for exerting a printing or cutting force. This force exerting means includes a curved force exerting surface with a radius of curvature parallel to the path of travel of the tape which is supported and guided by a portion of the side walls so as to allow the curved surface to move in a generally rolling and force exerting movement with respect to the printing or cutting surface.
